MSAD 54 Guiding Beliefs were used to craft standards, develop graduation requirements, and are integral in the district's approach to Proficiency-Based Education.
The MSAD 54 Graduation Requirements require students in the class of 2018 and beyond to meet expectations in three key areas:
- Credits: Students must meet a minimum number of credits including credits in some specific areas as outlined in policy IKF.
- Learning Experiences: Students must be enrolled in particular learning experiences during high school, including Science, ELA, and Mathematics each of their four years in school.
- Standards: Students must meet proficiency in all graduation standards to graduate. These are our content area standards shown below. Maine law requires students in the graduating class to meet standards in the areas of English Language Arts, Math, Science & Technology, Social Studies, Guiding Principles, Career Education, Health and Physical Education, Visual & Performing Arts, and World Languages.
